What benchmarks and which Quadro / Tesla cards were you using? My experience has not been the same. iRay with Quadro / Tesla renders very fast. Now maybe a 690 verses a fermi Quadro 5000 but when I run multiple Quadro with multiple Tesla it is faster than a set of multiple GeForce cards.

The new Kepler based Tesla K20s are VERY fast!

There's an iRay benchmark thread around here, there was a test with a GTX 560 vs. Quadro 4000, GTX 560 was faster, and the Quadro 4000 is more than twice the cost of a GTX 560

Quite stunning that there arenīt more tests out there showing the performance of the new Geforce Titan compared to version of the 5xx / 6xx /Quadro !!
Would be interesting to see just how much faster Titan is in iRay and VrayRT considering the ridiculous pricetag.

I am hoping to get these soon and get some bench marks ran and posted.

Here are some benchmarks of Arion, a GPU renderer as well, that gives some insight in speed differences: http://www.randomcontrol.com/arionbench

To buy or not to buy....

Looking at CUDA cores and frequencies, a TITAN should be a bit lower than double GTX680.
And if you use simple math to predict the time required to get a clear image in iray, you might come to a rational conclusion.

Looking at the Arion benchmarks and assuming it would be about similar for iray that would be about right:
2*680 = 2869.99
1xTitan= 2226.43

And as Kelly suggested maybe Quadros/Teslas scale better in multi-card setups.. Haven't seen any benchmarks that suggest this but curious to find out.
