Another particle mapping question

I'm using super spray to create the effect of steam coming out of a pipe.

I achieved the look I want with standard Facing particle type and standard material with a radial gradient opacity map. To achieve the right mapping I used face map on standard material settings.

I want to use Arch&Design material for the same purpose but it doesn't work due to the lack of planar mapping. UVWMap can't be applied to particles.

I've tried using instanced geometry for particles, it does work with mapping, but this time I couldn't have the faces look at the camera, like in standard "Facing" particle type

Do you have any workaround for this.
