Render to Texture, files output question
Hey all,
When I create a Render to Texture, Max creates a new Shell material and assigns the Object to the new Material. I am creating Ambient Occlusions and this is a bit difficult in that I have to keep changing the Material on the object back to the original. Is it possible instead to Render the Ambient Occlusion without changing any files? I am using Mental Ray, Max 2012, and cannot see a way to do this. Could I be missing it? What I 'do not' want to do is save the export into the 'source'. Wouldnt that erase the main source file, the stacked PSD file that I am using? (Sorry, baking is all new to me and Im trying to learn from the manual and what I can find online). |

Check the "Render to files only" checkbox to avoid the Shell creation. You still need an output file to store the AO map.
