viewport lag when ALT+MMB

Hi I have 3ds max 2012 (student) SP2
core i5
Geforce 460SE
and I have problem when I am in viewport and I am usin g ALT+MMB I have lags, but when I am using orbit button I havent any lag
Please help, sorry for my english

there is two things you can do to improve the situation:
1 - freeze layers you don't work on
2 - use selection filters (make your own combos, leaving geometry out - like SLCH or similar)

why this helps, is because there is a bug that does some kind of 'selection-test' + mesh caching every time you want to rotate. that is why it doesnt appear with the orbit tool (-as selection is deactivated in that moment)

max 2013 improved the situation, but from what i see, they just got the caching better. Even in 2013 it lags still less utilizing the two suggested points.
