Max 2012 Material Manager Madness

Hey all,

Dang... What is up with the Material Manager? I am using the early version with the Spheres and cannot seem to figure out why it keeps hiding Materials?

I create a new Material, I go to the former Material Sphere and use that to select all my parts via Material so that I can apply the new Material to it, and the new one is gone....!? Several times now this morning, this is happening.

If I clone a Material and rename it, its name reverts back.

I have the latest SP1 2012 update. Is there anything that I should know about, a clicky to click, a button to click that will bring the old version Material Manager back to Normality? :S

maybe, you should set correct "assign renderer" which will meet the selected materials

Hello Klimuk,

I am using the FSX gamepack Materials, which work with both Scanline (so far) and Mental Ray.

I'll check to see if FSX materials require MR settings pre-assigned.

(FSX=Flight Simulator X and Prepar3d).

I found out what it was, in case it happens to anyone else.

I had ticked on 'Update Active Only' in Material Manager/Options/Options.
