@lionhart: I have installed the shaders in 3dsmax Design 2012.

As you can notice there is no NVIDIA in the paths.

Also did some test renders using hot chip/ Thorsten’s .mi shaders like car paint and architectural. I had a problem with mental camera shader output (hot pixels) so I set it to none.

This all sounds good…but when scrolling down through either the compact or slate material thumbnail previews and as soon as it reached the thumb preview for mila adapter… 3dsmax Design 2012 crashed hard due to reasons unknown. Working on trying to figure it/this out…

Hi Guys,

Sorry i have found two Bugs in Render Optimizer V3, "AO Distance" and "visible area lights" is fixed. Second i have added the option "mila clamp output", that helps to eliminate Overbright Pixel.

please download again Render Optimizer V3.

Very nice stuff from The Mill as always. As I've already posted on the elementalray blog, I can't tell which trains are for real and which are CG

Thorsten, that's a nice comparison between the old workflow and the new one inside MR. What were the render times?

Hi Rockin,

the A&D with FG image need 35 Minutes. (only fly true animation with the camera). The Scene was optimized with Shader Utilities and Render Optimizer and lot of knowlegde.

the MILA with IBL image need 1 hours. ( you can animate objects too). The Scene was optimized only with Render Optimizer (Unified Sampling and MILA Options). But i must say, i have at this time not the perfect values, i must do more test. Very good is... i can´t believe it... no Overbright Pixels and no NaN Error with IBL in 32 Bit Mode.

PS: it is all BETA. The current MILA build have a Shadow Bug with transparency. To fix this problem, i go to object properties and set "casting shadows"=off.

By "only fly true animation with the camera" do you mean that you have a precomputed FG map?

Thanks for the insight! While it's true there are some issues, the MILA shaders seem to be powerful and also well suited for IBL and unified sampling workflows.

Can you share that scene of the house? (or any other exterior scene you have in MR) I want to give iRay a go at it to compare the results.

Hi Rockin,

Tee FG Map is precomputed. by both A&D + MILA, but with IBL can you animate Objects, because the FG Setting for calculate per frame is very low without flickering.
