Link goal of IK chain to geometry?

Link goal of IK chain to geometry?

Hey all,

I've run into a little problem that i cant seem to solve.

I'm working on a very simple robotic arm, i made some bones and linked them with a IK Limb solver.

I want to add a control object at the end of that IK Limb solver chain but i cant seem to be able to connect a object to the IK Chain goal icon.

Is it possible to have a IK chain get controlled by a piece of geometry?

Do you want to attach it to the surface of the geometry at a certain location? The attachment constraint will work for that.

Apologies for the late reply.

I got it working by linking a dummy or a point helper, with the "Select and link"option, to the IK Goal.

This will result in a dummy following the IK goal.

If you want to control the IK chain with geometry you'll need to select/link the IK goal to something, not the other way around.
