Self illuminated material flickering?

How do I make self illuminated material randomly flicker on the scene? I have a scene setup with some tube lights and I want one of them to flicker, to make it feel like its about to die. I have used the mental ray Arch & design material to illuminate those tube lights.

Here is the screenshot.

Thanks all.
