Bake Morph Animation, Isolate and Detach

Hi all, I have a morphed explosion on a cell model which I want to bake in the animation and detach the broken pieces so I can simulate everything after the initial explosion. I'm not sure if this can be done. I'm attaching a video of the explosion. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
