Vray z-depth contrast

Hi everyone,

I want to batch render Vray z-buffers for different camera positions but most of my outputs are too much contrasted. How do I configure 3DS to make sure the zbuffers use as many distinct gray values as possible? I cannot manually set zmin and zmax because I don't know by advance the camera positions. Any idea?

BTW, is there any way to take texture transparency into account with multi/subobjects materials?
