VrayEmbree Plugin - Speed Renders by up to 30%

This will be old news for most, but I haven't seen this mentioned much in the forum yet, so thought I would post a link!

A programmer at Chaosgroup has released an early version of their VrayEmbree plugin. It supports the intel Embree raytracing kernels which are still being further developed.

Check out the thread on Chaosgroup's forums:
http://www.chaosgroup.com/forums/vb...ighlight=Embree

Download the plugin here (3DS Max version):

Maya version should be available by now.

I also made a quick video about the plugin:

Right now, the VrayEmbree helper will speed up renders by 20-30% if you're rendering with an new intel CPU. The new ivybridge cpus will have the best results.

At the moment, the Vray implementation of Embree only speeds up still renders with static geometry - no motionblur, instances, vrayproxies, etc.

But this is just the start, and the plugin will most likely support most or all of these features in the upcoming Vray 2.4 or Vray 3 whenever that arrives.

Pretty exciting...Render speedups by up to 30%...and you just have to tick a checkbox! That's before you even start optimising the scene further!
