Thumbs up

I am testing Corona since the AlphaV3.

I can say that i am Addicted to it since first render.

I am researching ans testing Corona on a daily basis on production and even for a ALPHA renderer it shows that is a VERY PROMISSING FUTURE.

I have a few renders to show made with Corona :

This was my first Study :

And a wider angle...

Then, this was my second study :

And so, iīve tried an Animation ! (15minutes/frame FullHD)

This was using Path Tracing + Path Tracing, MotionBlur and DOF on render. Post just to little Color Grading and Glow/flare.

Very nice!

I'm sorry if this has been discussed, but does it handle Render Elements at all?

Yes. Pure Path Tracing + PathTracing.

Path tracing donīt produce (it seems) light flicker, even in very low settings but instead you get a lot of PT noise. This noise itīs not annoying at some level, itīs flicker looks like "film flicker", very subtle.

On my animation, i noticed a LOT of noise on the first frames because iīve animated that HUGE light over the room, and i am lightning the room with the light Passing trhu a HUGE Tranlucent model (The entire ceilling is like a "milky glass" with lights behing it. Just like the real life situation.

So, it looks Corona is handling a lot of complex light on this. 15 minutes per frame looks like a dream for this quality results, but with 15minutes/frame i had noise (not annoying) and i had some flickering on the edge of metalic parts... But isnīt SO noticeable when moving, with motionblur, dof, and post production over it.

Thereīs only a huge light on the scene (the entire ceilling light). The small lights are just polygons without ray casting. And 2 minor area lights on the sites to give some volume to the walls. No Hdr used (donīt need it indoor).

The car and the floor shaders are Layered Shaders (using Blend on 3dsmax slate), with a Glossy base shader and a Reflective coat.
