weird bevel profile bahavior when used with shape created from selection

Hi all,

I would appreciate some hint to resolve some issue I've been struggling with for last 2 days.

Here is simple scene

On the left I have an object with a few edges selected. I want to create a profile along selected edges. I extract selected adges by clicking 'create shape from selected' and apply bevel profile to it. The result is the middle green object. It has that ugly stretching as if it was pulled down for some reason. On the right however there is orange object which was based on arc shape created by eyeballing to match desired shape. Unfortunately I want to match my shape perfectly so I need extracted shape. Why bevel profile is stretched on extracted shape and works as expected on regular arc? How can I fix it? It drives me crazy.

I tried to duplicate your problem and couldn't.
Maybe if you attach the bad spline to the good spline, then delete the bad one...

Thanks for the help.
Here is original 'scene' - roughly 300KB. I've found the way to accomplish what I wanted but in a weird way. Instead of creating shape from selection automatically - I create line shape snapping to all vertices I originally wanted. Although the shape is the same this will behave the same way unless autogrid is turned on at the same time. I've tried all possible scenarios - changing vertex types etc - autocreated shape will not work and manually created (with line to exactly follow desired shape) will but only when autogrid is on.

You just need to extrude Local rather than group

ok - but I am trying to make Bevel profile work (from shape created from selection) not extrude unless I somehow misunderstood you. Can you clarify?

Ah I see, I thought you were doing something different. Well, if that's not working you can try another method by extruding in which case you would make that shape into geometry and extrude inwards to make that shape.
