Again EU Law only covers the sale, based on the recent Oracle case, not authorization of the tools. So far there has been no case based around authorization. Also, there are still limitations on the ruling with what the seller and buyer are entitled to.

I guess I'll stick with Blender then.

Thanks for the information.

I'd like to contact autodesk and ask them about this site and it's digital copies. Does anyone know autodesks email address?

EU Law also covers that if you buy a product it needs to work as adevertised.

It will work as advertised... for 30 days. I bet wording is often important, sure you can buy the software but what about the license?

Who knows, maybe this is why Autodesk charges so much more for licenses across the pond.

They claim that the software is an OEM version and that they already have activated it with autodesk so I won't have to.

Does that sound plausable?

No, that sounds like a cracked version.

Seriously, you can't get a legitimate version of 3ds Max for that price.

So old versions of max aren't cheaper?

Blender it is then.

You may find a cheaper, used version of 3ds max, just not on that particular site(or similiar).
Try eBay or amazon.
