Simple question about rendering NEWBIE HERE -


I'm not a user of 3D Studio, but I make 3D Maps (mostly DEM - Digital Elevation Models ones) for photogammetry purposes. Now someone asked me a simple render of the map and since I've used 3D Studio like 10 years ago I choosed it to render this map. The software I use exports in OBJ format.

At 3D Studio (a fresh install of it) I imported the OBJ file and in the viewport everything seems ok, picture below:

This first imagem shows the viewport and the import OBJ menu, look that the invert normals is checked, if I don't check this one the textures goes to the back of the map so I need to check this to get the texture in the right place.

But when I hit the render button for the active viewport (I'm a newbie) I get the image below:

If at render setup I check "force 2-sided" I get the image below:

What I'm doing wrong? What I'm missing? Remember, I'm a newbie...
