Thanks very much Kelly! WinDirStat was the ticket.

I had already moved one of my paging files off the C-Drive, don't use Hibernate and use a registry cleaner often. But I never suspected that there was 7GB of TMP files in my MAX2010_64 temp directory. Now I've got 10GB free and the install should work.

Thanks again.

Although I'm sure the disk space issue is solved, one other issue remains.

Since the original install from the MSI on the install disc had problems near the end, the install was not legit... when trying to remove MAX2013 from the Add & Remove Programs, it would not uninstall. Therefore I had to manually delete the MAX2013 directories, etc. Now when I try to install from the install disc, it thinks MAX2013 is already installed and therefore gives no option to install. There is a registry key remaining that makes it think it's already installed. As soon as I find the proper key and remove it, I should be able to install again.

(I should note that even running my registry cleaner does not remove the offending keys so I have to find it by hand).

Thanks again to all!

A lot of it resides in:
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Autodesk\3dsMax\15.0

Some in:
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Autodesk\UPI

Also in:
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Classes

A lot resides in various other places but I think cleaning the first two will be enough to get you reinstalled. Before removing anything from the registry you will need to make a backup of it.

Do at your own risk, I am only providing some background, I am not an installer Dev.

If you don't want to go deleting in your registry I can find out a recommended process from the installer team.

Thanks for the info Kelly. I have already deleted the proper key and the installer then saw MAX2013_64 as not installed and therefore let me install it. It is currently near the end of the install process and will hopefully finish without incident.

Thanks again.
