Delay / Offset animation on clone or child objects

Hi there!

I was wondering if anyone would know what kind of expression or script I need to put if I want to have the same animation on the child or the cloned objects than a Master object!

I have a nice Teapot on path constraint....I want all duplicates to have the same animation but with a delay...the best thing would be to be to have a script that says:
"take the animation from the parent and delay it for N frames!"

"take objects according to name order and apply the same animation from a $.masterObject with a delay"

I would really appreciate any help!

I'm quite certain there was at least one script doing exactly that over at, have a look...

Very simple with PATH CONSTRAINT animations.
Create an expression controller for each PERCENT controller.
Just 1 variable refered to the master with a little OFFSET in thicks (1frame = 4800 thicks).
This can be done by a very simple MAXSCRIPT.

well yeah...thats the point....I don't know what kind of expression or script I've to write to do that!!

I had a look on scriptspot but the only script they have is for PRS and visibility and there is one for modifiers animation as well....But nothing for controller animation!

So, do it manually. How many objects do you have?
How are they named?

Teapot01 is the master.
Each other has an Expression controller with 'MasterPercent' as a Scalar variable.
This variable has a Thick Offset to delay it.
Teapot02 :-4800, Teapot03 -9600... So on.

Try using particles instead. It will work even without path constraint.

yep I could have done it manually but since I had heaps of objects that would just take too much time!

Using particles was a solution too...

But what I did now is just after I was sure of my object's movement using path constraint I just collapsed the whole animation so I had keyframes... After that I could just use one of the many scripts from scriptspot to delay each objects quite easily!

Thanks for the helps guys!

Hey guys, just to add to this... Is there a way to get these scripts working with keyframes assigned to a link constraint. Most if not all of the scripts animate postition scale and rotate, but thats all. Is there a way I could do this?
