3ds max modelling problem

I want to simulate a V-bit milling image. Recessed polygons from outside to inside with a constant angle. The depression depends on the width of the polygon.
I can project the vectors onto a surface with ProBoolean and assign them a Matrial ID. I've tried it with the "Extrude Surface" modifier. I can only apply this to smaller polygons.

Can someone give me a hint how I can model that?

Thank you in advance

model ? what about displacement ?

if you cleaned up the linework a little bit displacement should work just fine. This is using the lowres jpg you attached without any cleanup

Using Photoshop's Layer Style > Inner Glow in Precise you can create a great texture to use in displacement. But make sure to create it in huge resolution and 16bit at least.
Or you can put your vectors to max, subdivide them with subdivide modifier or garment maker. Turn them to poly, select border, turn Soft Selection ON, adjust soft selection curve and distance and move border a bit in vertical direction.

if you INSIST on modelling...well take it into Zbrush coz ain't no way you can hand model fine details like that with non-high rez mesh

is there a way to record a drawing in the same way you'd record audio?

Although I guess just the video-footage from those programs that record on-screen-activity would be enough for a mask.

Hi Serejah

Thank you for the good tip. My CPU is still working well, but this gives me a good result, as you can see in the picture.
