Secret Agent 'Mouse Love' :: Tutorial

Hey there again,

When Jose Alves da Silva won the Individual Image Master Award in CGSociety's 'Secret Agent' CGChallenge, Jose met with amazing raptures of praise from the community who'd watched it come together.

Thanks to Jose also for helping to put this cool tutorial together of the 2D3D creation.

Clcik the image.

Love the image and the fact you've painted the fur. I know a lot of 3d artists suffer from some inherent problem which doesn't let them accept 2d compositing and touchup techniques but IMO whatever works is good. The final image is great and painting fur well is not easy either. Fooled me in fact - I thought you did use 3d hair. Thnx for sharing.

Great read! And good job on the competition! Sounds like it was a lot of work, but it definately paid off.

Kudos!

I think this is one of the better making of. Really lots of tricks in the article and lot's of 'how to think parts'.

How to model and add details in Zbrush for this would make a whole dvd, but there are so many zbrush tutorials out there so it's no problem.

Good stuff nevertheless.

Well, as I said before your work was very inspiring to me as a co-challenger. I'm glad your work has paid of and I hope to see you again on future challenges. Thanks for the look behind the scene.

damn I'm jealous

Thanks guys!
It is true, today the border between 2D and 3D is getting very blurry.
You get painters who use 3D to help with the perspective and 3D guys who retouch their renders. If both Media have their strengths and weaknesses why not get the best from both?

Top work! This is exactly what I am looking for and what I call inspiring work. Humor, story and 3D mixed in a top notch CG art. Parabéns!!! Thanks for sharing this!
