Blox 3D:Lego Kit on Ipad

Hi,
I have developed a 3d modelling Ipad app called Blox3D for kids that teaches them basic 3D modelling concepts .
Use push/pull and tap to make beautiful 3d objects on tablets and phones!

Its free for the next couple of weeks and I thought professional CG parents would love to get it for their kids!

That's actually not bad!

Please do not post personal promotion in General Discussion.
Moving this to news for you, which is where these topics belong.

I thought news wasn't for personal promotion...

If it's artistic content then definitely not, but for software products (releases mostly) we've long allowed people to post in news as long as they don't spam it on a daily basis. The logic is that software releases make a lot of sense in news (the hard formatted PR and frequent stuff has a press release sub forum), and there is no reason to let a large software company have its software promoted, often by forum members posting the update news, and not let indie and small developer do the same.

This is compounded by the fact that once an art piece is released it doesn't become irrelevant over time, and the gallery mechanisms work to that. Software releases, much like news, are constantly obsoleted, and therefore the chronologically ordered nature of the CGNews section makes for a good fit.

More importantly though, personal promotion, or even cross-posted individual promotion (largely to avoid people exploiting fake accounts or asking friends to post their portfolio), is generally not allowed in GD, because otherwise it would instantly swamp that forum (we've been there).

Hopefully this clarifies.
