Thanks for your lengthy explanation of the versioning info Rohan! Houdini does appear to have a very dedicated development team. I'm making the switch to Houdini from Max for the same reasons as you. The written tutorial of yours on 3DTotal is impressive! It would be interesting to see how you would set up the materials, lighting, compositing, and particle dust effects in Houdini instead of VRay for Max...or perhaps I will be able to figure it out after I finish your Tea and Cookies videos.
In the past I haven't had much of a problem fitting Max or Maya into my employers business plan budgets (I've indirectly made Autodesk a lot of money), but Houdini may be a harder sell. Hopefully, with some nice product imagery, this will be easier, as I don't get a chance to do much particle VFX work here in Silicon Valley. Last edited by visualride : 05 May 2014 at 06:01 PM. |

Very nice. I plugged it on my website. More than a few of my students want Houdini training.

Damn and Blast!
I wanted Paypal, but didn't wait, so I bought part 1 and 2 nervously through Gumroad. Thanks anyway, and perhaps I will use Paypal if you offer any further tutorials. |
