It's called Painting The Future.

It is on the developer part of the Apple website, I think you can still register for a free membership. But you will need to be registered as a developer to see the videos…

Very cool stuff, looking forward to the beta of Mari; and especially looking forward to the new Mac Pro…!!!

watched last night, was good demo. funny too.

would be nice to see a proper, full on Mari demo by Jonathan Hoffman and Jack.

one thing i didn't understand Jack, you mentioned wanting to be able to use dual GPUs but does Mari currently take advantage of dual GPUs?

Thanks!
Just watched it, and... Wow! When he showed both characters (did he mention 8k patches?) plus the set with all the lights and shaders, that's incredibly fast.

I want The Foundry to take Mari, make it attuned for 2D use to replace photoshop. Open it up to node based filters through the Nuke codebase, then tie that all really tightly to Modo in some way.

Seriously if Nuke, Mari, Modo could all be smooshed together somehow.... you have a new heavyweight champion.

Don't to forget to get some HIERO PLAYER into the mix as well…

I dread to guess how much the Foundry would dare charge for something like this. With the current prices as they are, you could be looking at something well in advance of £6000. With Mari alone currently costing an exorbitant £1210 (ex. VAT) without maintenance, it's already priced well above what Adobe charged for a PS CS license.
Furthermore, I believe that the Foundry still has quite a ways to go before it can match the quality of Photoshop's 2D tool set. That's not to say I wish they wouldn't try take Adobe's crown though.
