Looks like they accidently uploaded the documentation for Mudbox 2014.

When you look at the What's new in Mudbox, they are really no innovative features. When ZBrush comes out, its new features seems mind-boggling.

do you expect them to? Autodesk doesn't innovate, they just acquire companies who do.

i'm not really suprised at all. i also find it odd that unlike max, softI and maya the mud page doesn't list the new features

As far as mudbox is concerned... I guess it's a battle they know they've already lost.

If they add some kind of dynamesh and files less heavy, this release would be just perfect. But looks that they still prefer mudbox for final assets, for sketching, a pencil or zbrush.

i dont think its fair to compare normal developers to zbrush. those guys have been on methamphetamine for years.

mudbox development is slower but in many ways its a nicer product to use because its not so confusingly packed with so many features

okay can we compare it to Modo701 then?...as 701 looks to have way more new features for just SCULPTING than mudbox...not hard to do as mudbox 2014 only has 2 new features!

2014 files are smaller... they changed a lot in that area...

so how does MODOs sculpting and texturing compare to mudbox? i'm currently deciding what to get, but 3dcoat is too religious, mudbox too autodesk (but i'm used to it), and zbrush has unusual controls.. so there is no perfect choice for me at least....

would a 701 modo user buy mudbox? (lets forget for a minute its AD)

I wouldn't. 701 sculpting and painting speed is pretty nice and the retopo tools in modo are excellent.

in some cases you need mud... there is no other tool for certain workflows...
but for most sculpting stuff every sculpting app will do it...
