10% price hike on 3dsmax/maya (UK)

can you even start to believe this?

in january 2013 we had a 42% price rise on subs for 3dsmax
and today we're told no...soorry...not enough...we want another 10% on top of that starting end of march...in what 14 days time?

Either 3dsmax and maya 2014 are simply a HUGE update and we'll fall about giggling at the prospect or we're being bullied into getting on the suite train.

Oh, looks like they want you to upgrade to one of those useless suites.

Yeah - i did the same - and i'm glad that i did, otherwise i would be out of the game too...
Though Max 2014 version will be pretty good IMHO. But well, of course that depends on the user's focus ...

Well, I've not seen anything earth shattering so far, based on the sneak peeks.

Populate - pretty limited.
Viewport improvements
Likely Box #2 from the subscription pack - pretty old plugin that I already have.

Seriously Autodesk, aren't you already swimming in money by now. Take it easy.

Considering that someone from Autodesk updated the web page with new features for Softimage 2014 and the "main" feature you found was "the camera sequencer" i wouldnt hold my breath. Maybe Maya and Max got lucky in terms of news.
(AD took the webpage down as soon as they realized what they did. there is still a google cache page online..if you think that is a year of work its quite depressing).

here you can read some reactions..
