3DBD Function of Reality

Canadian company San Base Studio has released a full-length (100 min) 3D disc "Function of Reality" based on 3D fractal algorithm (mandelbox). Using the latest computer technology San Base has achieve an extraordinary image quality. This is not only a demonstration of 3D technology but a new kind of Art.

Beautiful, remind me of 1999-2001 era of 64KB intro of the demo scenes. Direct3D 7/8 was awesome enough, and fractals generated 3D was always used due to size limitations.

But right after The Dot Product and its demo tools was released, suddenly people start to go 'realism' in their 64K (for example there was a 64k intro of a jet fighter in water flooded basement).

While the ability to fit 'realism' in 64K can be technically challenging, I think that what demo compo without size limitation for. As for 64K, I want fractals worlds!

I've watched the sample youtube. Cool!

Reading back your original post, was it really "a new kind of art?"

Fractal landscapes, even in 3D is as old as I remember. I even saw a Nova Science about the topic.

1. Such 3D fractals (mandelbox) were created only 3 years ago:(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mandelbox)
2. Art is not invention of a new tool. Art is the ability to use this tool to create something new. In this case, the static picture got another dimension (time). The painting is changing and will never repeat again. This is not an animation or a movie, it is a new genre.

I really like your Dynamic paintings. I hope you don't mind me sharing your website with friends?

Interested in the 3D Blu-ray, do you still have copies to sell and would you post overseas?

Thanks.

Thanks.

Yes, we still have about 70-80 copies. We use Canada Post for shipping, delivery to any country (except Eastern Europe) usually takes one week or so (sometimes 10 days).
