Modo for Linux

According to the latest modcast Foundrology has been working on a Linux version of Modo.

Would be interesting if it were for Android tablets but those have a way to go in the horses department so at least in the right direction.

Yerp that's 701..

Looks like it has inbuilt Audio system now and a dynamics tab so good chance 701 will have particles..

The port was done by The Foundry before the merger....

Given that "When you buy a modo 601 Individual License, you can use it on both the PC and Mac as we license the software to you, not your computer", it will be interesting to see if this holds for the Linux version as well.

Since Modo is going to be on Linux I am interested.

Just wondering, what do all you Linux guys do when you need to do texture work etc, given no Adobe Suite etc? Gimp?

Just wondering, no trolling here.

99% of the time it's Mari, 1% gimp to fix up a stencil (or just boot in windows and use photoshop )

I knew Mari is going to be the answer. I think the word on why Linux version will be released now is due to the same people that use Mari on Linux at studios are kept asking for it, as they been using Modo at home and would love to be able to use it at work.
