Seeing how Apple treats the Mac Pro line I'd rather go for linux. But I don't think it's gonna happen, neither OS X nor Linux.

Of course it's gonna be all super-great and shiny, looooong awaited tools(viewcube anyone?maybe a view teapot this year.yay!) and what not.

same here but not for max only. with all the wishes that the users have, lets see if AD blows our socks off. not to mention all the users who are threatening to move elsewhere if they don't get what they want.

I somehow doubt it, if there's a software that is monstrously entrenched in Microsoft's platforms that's MAX. Weirder things have happened, mind, but I can't say I can see that happening, or them even caring since they do already have Maya as a DCC offering for Mac, and apparently that's pain enough.

Agree - the current MS tech focus in Max makes that a major effort. There is ( or has been ? ) AutoCad for OSX, but i'm sure they had a lot of trouble porting it. And the missing pro support from Apple makes a Max port even less a priority IMHO
What would be great would be some kind of headless Max which you can run in batch mode ...

Personally I find the idea of the "State of the Industry Panel" discussing "The Evolution of the 3D industry: Who will survive?" slightly disturbing. This topic most definitely warrants discussing and I even applaud Autodesk offering a platform to do so, BUT in combination with their own product line-up launch event it does seem a bit strange/a bit tainted IMHO.
But then again, I'm probably yet again very much alone on this...
Ah well...

Probably a direct result of Ken's departure.....(in the case of Max, of course)

i never liked this fancy "sneak peak" and "leaks" approach. It created too much expectations and lead to dissapointment.

"Animation Playback performance improvement" now that's good news to me!

I wish one could create custom toolbars with 32x32 icons instead of 24, I work with a
27' display at 2560 x 1440 res. And current icons in max get too small, it's difficult to see such a tiny icons.
When I looked at my coworkers working in Maya, those icons in Maya's Shelf are such a relief.
