I very much doubt that's true.

If it's just a single unconfirmed tweet, do we really need a post in GD amongst the constant barrage of shit news already posted multiple times a day, some not even remotely related to our main topics?
Seriously, this is getting a bit silly.
I get it, we like news in GD, and even out-of-arse rumours are news now apparently, but let's give this place's atmosphere a bit of a break from this constant doom'n' gloom, hei?

I don't see any problem with it. Rumor is rumor. You could chose to close your eyes or hide yourself under the bed. But things still happen. As much as I don't want to believe this rumor is true, but it seems to me that quite a few "rumor" we heard recently turn out to be true.

Roberto did mention it was unconfirmed report, so it isn't like he is stating it as gospel.

Good catch Roberto. This part seems to indicate that the tax/revenue man is owed money and filed the winding up petition:

"In the Matter of NECIUATE LIMITED FORMERLY PIXOMONDO LIMITED

(Company Number 05392567)

and in the Matter of the Insolvency Act 1986

A Petition to wind up the above-named Company, Registration Number 05392567, of 14 New Street, London, EC2M 4HE, presented on 15 January 2013 by the Commissioners for HM Revenue and Customs, of Bush House, Strand, London WC2B 4RD, claiming to be Creditors of the Company, will be heard at the Royal Courts of Justice, 7 Rolls Buildings, Fetter Lane, London EC4A 1NL, on 4 March 2013, at 1030 hours (or as soon thereafter as the Petition can be heard)......."

My experience working with Pixomondo (not london) wasn't a good one at all. Still this news exceeds even my bad impression by far.

People were hired on londons site even though staff already knew the site was going down.

I really hope this has some impact on that "mighty" boss..

I'm curious as to how this affects the L.A. office?

From talking to other freelancers not being paid in London seems to be a common problem for them. I know In California there are laws that protect freelancers. I'm not sure if the U.K. has any similar laws or not.

I never worked for Pixomondo, but I imagine they're closing offices to consolidate their resources. It doesn't mean that the company at large is in trouble.

It is a shame that the artist working for them haven't gotten paid. I hope all those artist can slide into a new job soon.

here is a link to what is a winding up petition
http://www.companyrescue.co.uk/comp...ing-up-petition

A winding up petition (WUP) is by far the most serious action that can be taken against your company.

If a creditor moves to wind your company up, they are usually serious in their intent to recover the money it is owed and or put the company out of business.

Quote: Internet reports revealed U.K. tax authorities have filed a "winding-up" petition against Pixomondo for non-payment of taxes, which amounts to a request that the London operation be declared bankrupt involuntarily. Pixomondo founder Thilo Kuther told Variety his company has already established a payment plan for those taxes.
