DJV Imaging 0.9.0 (open source flipbook)
Hi everyone,
After a long hiatus from my open source flipbook project I have found some time to work on it again and have just released a new version (0.9.0): http://djv.sourceforge.net/downloads.html And the home page is here: http://djv.sourceforge.net/index.html This version is a work in progress (no Windows builds yet) but will hopefully be the start of regular releases again. The main changes are a new 64-bit OSX build and a much simplified build system. Note though that since I've upgraded to the latest FLTK versions there are some minor drawing glitches on OSX which still need to be worked out. Thanks, Darby |

Yay!
![]() It's nice to see development work continue. It's such an awesome application. Will there be any changes on the Linux front? The last time I tried I couldn't get DJV to run on Ubuntu 11.10, or 12.04 (I didn't try compiling myself, it's beyond me). __________________

DJV always kills Aero in windows 7 for me. Is that a common problem for everyone, and is it going to be fixed in this new version?
Thanks so much for the update! I thought this project was dead. __________________

Thanks so much for the update! I thought this project was dead. Yes, I had that problem, too. But switched to a custom basic theme and everything was fine again and snappier than before. __________________

I have this problem every time. but it's not a dealbreaker, just a nuisance. __________________

Hi,
Thanks for the comments everyone! The project isn't dead it's just been hibernating. ![]() Unfortunately since the last time I worked on the project I've retired my build machines so it will take a little while to get them back up and running. New Windows builds are definitely a priority. I built the latest Linux version on Ubuntu 12.04, so if people were having problems with earlier versions try the new one out. I've heard a lot of reports about incompatibility with Aero on Windows and I will also be looking into that. And, if anyone is at SIGGRAPH this year and would like to chat I'll be there Wednesday all day and Thursday morning. Thanks, Darby |

I tried the linux build at work:
And I can't build it with a simple:
So I will need to wait to be at home to test. ![]() __________________

I compiled the latest version for Ubuntu 12.04 which is fairly popular but may not be the most compatible. If you would like to try compiling from scratch, DJV uses the CMake build system which is a little different from autoconf/configure. If you would like to try CMake, create a new directory and run "cmake $source_dir" where $source_dir is the directory for the DJV source. You can then run make and make install. The software will be installed to /usr/local/djv, so you will probably need root permissions to run the make install part. You will also probably want to add /usr/local/djv/bin to your path. I will add these directions to the documentation for the next release. Darby |

Thanks for answer. A cool way mrViewer linux build use is to put every needed .so to the build.
This make it work in any Linux build (very usefull for just testing and feedback). Mine is Linux Mint Deban Edition. Thanks again fro your hard work! ![]() __________________
