NEX now available for Mac OS X and Linux

We're happy to announce that NEX (a plug-in for Maya) is now available for Mac OS X and Linux!

You can download a free, fully functional trial here:
http://draster.com/nex-1.5/get.html

We've also added a few new features including Maya Viewport 2.0 support and a new feature that makes it easier to view your mesh while "retopologizing" using Quad Draw. NEX v1.6 is a free upgrade for current Windows users.

Congratulations on the release! I've been using NEX for Windows ever since version 1 and can not even think of using Maya without NEX. The new Quad Draw feature is awesome! also glad to see vp2 supported!

The mac release of NEX is perfect timing, I'm waiting on the WWDC announcements to see if my next machine will be a macbook pro. NEX + retina display!

Love you guys!

honestly, I wouldn't go retina display for 3D until applications are optimized for it. it's just going to add tons of fill-rate overhead to drawing the same stuff. I have the 17" MBP quad-core i7 and it has a 1920x1200 display, which is amazing. Maybe grab one of these when the price drops.

Thanks for the OSX (and Linux) version. I'll have to find some time to try it out.

Damn - this can't be true! I've been waiting years for a Mac version as I switched to Mac completely years ago and now I have to see that the Mac version of NEX is only for Maya 2012 and 2013?! I'm still using Maya 2011 here and have no plans updating this expensive piece of software any more.

Is there any chance to get a Maya 2011 version of NEX for the Mac? (There IS a Windows version for Maya 2011, though...)

Thanks
Marco
