Can't unpaint skin weights

Hey guys I have a with skinning problem, I know this is basic stuff but I don't have much experience with facial skinning/rigging. Would be awesome to get some help.

I have a jaw bone selected and it's effecting half the body, same with the other side. I already have the body skinned with biped. Two are separate skin modifiers.

Tried using paint weight tool to unpaint the weighted area but it doesn't erase it.

That's because those vertices are only being influenced by the jaw bone and nothing else. Selecting another bone and give it some weighting to those areas, and you should be able to remove them. Any why two skin modifiers? Consolidate it to one.

Hey David thanks for replying.
The parts that were weighted were actually influenced by other bones as well. It doesn't effect each other, probably because it is two different modifiers.

When I added the jaw bones to the original skin modifier, something weird happens when I tried to paint the jaw
