3ds to Maya?

Hey guys. I have a really great rig I found on Turbosquid I want to buy, but I do not know 3ds max. I was wondering if the rig will be able to transfer over to Maya without any problems? I read that if you export as an FBX it is supported, but I just want to see what others think before I buy it.

Sorry to be pessimistic but I doubt this will transfer into Maya via fbx. It's OK for simple bone hierarchies and such but this rig looks like it's being driven by some sort of spline IK system.

You might get lucky but I'd be prepared to bet it'll be pretty painful if you don't have any rigging experience.
