Animated strawberry

This is a combination modeling/rigging question, so I hope that this is the best forum.

A friend of mine asked me to model and rig an animated strawberry. The goal was to make a character that had lots of squash and stretch so it could it could look extremely juicy as it bounces around and runs into other fruits.

The base model and rig were extremely easy -- just a flour sack for the most part. The seeds are sticking me up, though. The strawberry needs to be realistic, so the seeds should be embedded into the mesh as they appear on a real strawberry. They also need to pop off in certain instances. The real problem, though, is stretching. As the strawberry stretches, I image that the indentations that the seeds rest in will stretch out and the seeds will just come along for the ride.

On first my attempt, I kept the seeds as separate meshes and applied them to the base using a simple wrap deformer, but it didn't give me anything that I was looking for -- just stretched out indents and seeds. My current train of thought is a muscle deformer or a blend shape that pushes the indentations out. The seeds themselves would be attached with rivets or vertex constraints.

Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Hi
Riveting will work in this case.

Try to incorporate some lattices (FFDs if you're using Max) into your rig.
