animating or connecting maya fur globalScale
there is a problem with maya fur that you cannot connect its global scale to any control attribute or animate it , so here is a solution :
lets say that we attached a fur description named "FurDescription1" to a cube named "pCube1".
type on the expression editor :
float $aVal = pCube1.scaleY;
setAttr FurDescription1.gs $aVal ;
FurDescription1.Offset = 0 ;
this expression connects global scale with the cubes scaleY ,and the third line is for real time update ,if you need to edit the offset attribute you can use any other one.
and now you're ready to go
