Can LW do something like Max's matte/shadow material?
I need to get a bunch of alpha based shadows put into pngs and an easy way to do this would be wonderful.

For anyone interested I learned that the "shadow density alpha channel" setting in the advanced tab in the surface editor allows the alpha map for that surface to be computed using only shadows, which is exactly what I wanted.

Thumbs up

Cool Mike. Good feature research.

Wait, wait, wait.

How are you guys getting tutorials out for this already when it was just revealed today? Are you Beta testers or something? I'm hella confused right now...

Scriptlike animation for logos or text

How about a tut on how to make text or logo elements appear as if the were being written so that the object actually follows its own shape rather than just appearing to be masked from one direction.

That would be very useful
