So you are suggesting that the 1080TI and the Angtio node enclosure is the way to go with my config?

Bascially--if I were to pull the trigger today to b get an enclosure with 2-4 GPUs--this would be the way to go?

You are most welcome. BareFeats has been a long-term friend of the Mac community. I generally trust their reviews.

But careful! The Node product I mentioned only houses a single GPU! I have no recommendation for an enclosure that houses multiple GPU. Maybe such products exist...I don't know.

It may be possible to use multiple Nodes on a trashcan Mac. Since you are only using the GPU for compute--and not to push pixels to displays-- the data traffic over thunderbolt 2 might handle multiple units. This is only my conjecture.

Also...my disclaimer: I have no personal experience with AKiTiO or the Node product per se...nor any eGPU at all.
