Hi Guys,

Please don't make this thread into a software battle. It is about
X-Particles 2.5; we haven't claimed anything regarding any other rendering
solutions and in any case the use of different hardware makes comparisons pointless."

We are promoting our own its in magnitudes faster and more stable
then previous versions and we are very happy and proud of it.

Cheers
Mike

Nor mine as I tried to indicate with the dual emoticons and J/K disclaimer. I know Krakatoa has lots of other tricks in its bag. It's great to have options.

This major update brings a multitude of new features such as
emitter/modifier enhancements, substantially improved fluids, particle
painting and blazingly fast particle rendering. This update will be free
to all registered Version 2 users.

wow, fantastic.

will be curious too to see how the "check for updates" works in the plugin... is that upon a reboot of the C4D/NET that it checks?

will start scheduling to get 2.5 installed : )

Yes--just like maxon's auto update box. Upon startup of c4d, xp automatically checks for updates, gives you a list of changes via a pop up dialogue box and then you can choose to install or not. And of course you could also check manually.

Can't wait for a 2.5 demo. I'd really like to see what X-Particles can do with Dpit Effex 2.0, as well as Octane. Do you think a demo of 2.5 will be ready before the end of the year?
