V-Ray vrscene system (same as Maya, Xsi, etc)

Does that mean, a max/vray scene from turbosquid (for instance) can be loaded into c4d?

Looks awesome, great work - must have been a tough few months, hope you start to reap the rewards soon.

Can I ask about compatibility with existing scene files? Also are there any improvements in simple raytracing (non-GI) speed?

Oh for sure, it'll help me plan ahead. There have been projects on the backburner for a good while, waiting for this update. I can handle waiting until September.

Stefan is there any improvement in VRay compatibility with the displacement maps generated by the C4D 15 Sculpt texture baker?

Stefan. I looked through the list again and didn't see anything about multiple environment fog channels. Was that not included in this release? Being able to only use one fog layer has been a huge limiting factor for me in VRay for certain scenes. Where for example I really want distant volumetric fog and smoke plums up close, coming from ventilation systems etc.

here my anwser from forum before:

at the moment not,
this is nothing where we have influence on sadly,
this is more an issue from the sculpting baker, - or if you want the vray core which uses other displacement standards, which seem not fully compatible.
(it is very unusual that a greyscale map doesnt work though, c4d sculpt are the only ones i know though,at least nobody found a setting yet that is compatible)

we asked maxon, but i think they havent change much in this regard. some work, some others not so. i also tried on Vlado side, they have a lot to do atm sadly with the vr3. core alphas, on a fast check he said he thinks all is right from vray side. it might be worth rechecking all from all sides though the next weeks. but we can only do what the vray core can.
at the moment it is best to use the highres mesh if possible (also for speed this is the fastest by the way in vray as vray doesnt get very slow with detailed meshes)
anyway i will see what i can do about it.
