Save / Save As

At the risk of embarrassment, I've had a pet peve when it comes to
saving a new file ... it brings up the name field and you type in what
you want to name it ... so far so good ... BUT, why is the suffix ".c4d "
not grayed out like a photoshop file where all you do is type in the
name and not the .psd, etc. ?

I couldn't say, but if it's the same in OSX as on Win7, it doesn't matter if you just type over the .c4d it still creates the file fine (if this was the problem?).

cheers

The .c4d bit is added even if you dont type it in. Just type over the whole lot

Thanks for the replies ... I knew that the ".c4d" is saved but the
original question was, why C4D didn't handle this like other apps.

I thought I may have missed a check box somewhere in prefs, etc.
