Spline Keyframing

Hello,

I have a spline of a comet's trajectory that I have imported into Cinema 4D using a quick python script. Each point along the spline corresponds to one time step of the original simulation. I was wondering if Cinema 4D had an option to set an object so that it would reach the next point of a spline every X amount of frames. Normally I would just use an align to spline tag and key frame it, but this animation needs to sync perfectly with the simulation and has about 300 data points.

I could key frame each point using another python script but before I started I wanted to check to see if I am trying to reinvent the wheel.

Is there a better way to do this?
