Torus in a metaball object?

I have tried and tried.. is it possible to use a Torus in a metaball object?

Help needed please!!

To the question "is it possible to use a Torus in a metaball object" the answer is YES, but I think you want something different than that...
I'm afraid you need to be more specific if you want to get a useful answer.
What exactly are you trying to do?

There are 3 behaviors:

If a sphere is in a metaball, its total volume will be added to the metaball object, this is the most controllable

If a polygon object is added, each point gains a set amount of mass, this is usually quite difficult to control

If a spline is added, it gains a blob every few cm on the surface


For the effect I imagine youre after, try placing a circle spline in the metaball, then use the hull value of the metaball to control the volume.

I am trying to get this effect! Floating torus that can glue togather in a meta ball.
