New FUSE Reel

Hi Folks-

We're a Minneapolis based Cinema 4D shop. We're long time VRay users and now pretty heavy into the Octane render. We just finished a new reel for 2013 and thought I'd point it out here. CC's are always welcome.

Thanks!
Alec

Fantastic work! I especially loved the clay looking CG characters in the middle of the reel - unexpected and fun amidst the realistic animations before and after it.

I have a soft spot for CG that looks like clay. Any quick pointers you can give us on achieving that look?

Great reel! Loved the particle accelerator shot. Excellent light texture and detail. The tackle fly through/build looked great too.

nice work. always been a fan of the stuff you do from way back.

for the geek render interest - can you break down what renderer did what for us viewers?

i've been looking at Octane and other GPU type renderers but would like to see more renders (real world type) from them... just afraid of the GPU hype about rendering from the past 20 years that always had too many limitations. and been not all that impressed with my maxwell and finalrender2 purchases in particular... (VRAY though has been AWESOME - best money ever spent)

thanks

Hi Dan-
Sure, I can break this out. I'll just step through them and point out what renderer did what.

Shot 1- all standard
Shot 2(syfy)- Octane plugin
Shot 3(Office)- Octane plugin
Shot 4(Visa)- Octane plugin
Shot 5(Cheerios)- Vray
Shot 6(Biocor)- Vray
Shot 7(Reel)- Standard
Shot 8(Fly)- Physical
Shot 9(Leopard Jewelry)- Standard
Shot 10(Clay)- Standard
Shot 11(IDS)- Standard
Shot 12(lipstick)- Standard
Shot 13(Cow)- Standard
Shot 14(Reel)- Standard
Shot 15(Fly)- Physical
Shot 16(Exogen)- Octane standalone
Shot 17(Crab)- Physical
Shot 18(Skull/sword)- Vray
Shot 19(Target)- Standard
Shot 20(Keys)- Vray
Shot 21(FUSE tower)- Octane plugin

Quite a list! Varies a lot doesn't it? Interesting. Love these rendering tools! Octane is my new love though. It's still in it's early days (no displacement, compositing tags), but's it's awesome fast. Like stupid fast. Hope it helps.

Alec
