Xpresso in terms of lighting?

Hey guys, so usually when I watch greyscalegorilla and he puts on his light studios, his lighting softboxes have the xpresso tag on them. So here's my question, what is the relevance of xpresso in terms of lighting? Is it to enhance the lighting and using/applying certain settings makes it more realistic? What can I do with xpresso to make lighting better?

The Xpresso is used to control the rigs, so that when you adjust one of his custom sliders, it makes the appropriate adjustment within the rig.

In the case of the GSG light rigs, there's nothing done within the Xpresso that you couldn't create yourself outside of Xpresso.
