Cinema 4D Cloth Bandage Using Dresser?

Hi guys,

I've got a simple female poser character and I want to put a bandage on her arm. The simplest way I thought of doing this was to use the cloth tag on the tube and cloth collide tag on the body. But I've no idea how to get the tube to 'suck'/tighten/attach onto the body?

Is there any way of doing this? Should I be using the cloth tag or something else?

Hey John - try selecting a loop of polys around the arm, split them off and use them to make the bandage, with a little extrude. That way you know they'll fit nicely, and deform properly when it comes time to rig the arm.

Only bother with cloth when you want the mesh to do something cloth-y, like flap in the wind, fold over itself etc.

Thanks Chris!

I did consider that but I wasn't sure whether there was a better way. I'll give it a try!

Thanks again!

Does it need to animate on? ? If not, I'd use a shrinkwrap deformer for this.

Example attached.

cheers
