I'm thinking...hoping...no praying that's it's a Clarisse look-a-like.
Now something like that would blow me away.
Whatever it is, color me piqued.

Something that hasn't been mentioned is whether this is going to be something that is going into R15 or something we are getting now. I'm assuming it's for R15 but the fact that Maxon are tight lipped about future upgrades it made me wonder.

If they decided to do some form of merging with the Creative Suite, that would make a little bit of sense. However, I think the odds for that are extremely unlikely.

A return to point releases and an immediately available 14.5 with a brand new particle engine.

Well, he said it would change everything. That would change everything for me!

Stuart, did you mean that Steve and Mike sold X-P to Maxon?
Like ExM was acquired by AD with it's Naiad

I'm just speculating, hoping. I have no internal knowledge.

I would assume that Adobe/Maxon have been planning something for some time and will announce that there have already been developments in this area.

I have to say the videos are really quite underwhelming, with people I have never heard of saying this "thing" will change the world. If it was someone from Aixsponza or Justin Bates or Andrew Kramer, etc then maybe this would work, but because they are people who have no particular track record in C4D or AE that I know of then it falls flat. Don't get me wrong I am sure these people are great at what they do, but no hint at all at what this is just fuels a massive hype machine that will probably end up disappointing because it's an unrealistic promise. Everyone has their perfect C4D, After Effects or motion graphics wish list and they are all different so it's going to please some people and frustrate others.

That's my glass half empty rant for you.

Now what would be great would be, interactive renderer like Modo but twice as fast that didn't need an Nvidia card for it to work on my 4 year old Mac Pro. C4D's camera tools within AE, node based texture editor with a compositor thrown in at the same time, a small rumplestiltskin character who comes out at night and fixes everything for you so it looks great in the morning, and world peace.

Only a few more sleeps to find out

I think Rumplestiltskin would be more likely to elaborately break your scene over night and hold it hostage until you pay him a ransom.

Cinema 4D lite, included with After Effects.
http://success.adobe.com/assets/en/...cts_NAB2013.pdf

Hmm, won't revolutionize my workflow, but might help some out there.

From; http://blogs.adobe.com/aftereffects...fects-next.html
  • inclusion of CINEMA 4D application with After Effects: The version of CINEMA 4D included with the After Effects installer is CINEMA 4D Lite R14, which is comparable to CINEMA 4D Prime R14; CINEMA 4D Lite has some features not in CINEMA 4D Prime, and vice versa. You can create a new .c4d file from within After Effects by choosing File > New > MAXON CINEMA 4D File, and you can use the Edit Original command to edit a .c4d file from within After Effects.
  • import of .c4d files (CINEMA 4D scene files): The new integration between CINEMA 4D and After Effects allows you to import a .c4d file from CINEMA 4D (version 11 or later) into After Effects and use the 3D scene and its elements directly within After Effects by using the new CINEWARE effect and the background CineRender renderer. This enables you to use assets in such popular formats as OBJ, FBX, and Alembic in an After Effects scene. No more rendering a bunch of image sequences and waiting every time you want to make an adjustment or just try out a new idea. Any changes you make to an imported .C4D file are automatically updated in the After Effects project. See the “compositing and 3D” heading below for more CINEMA 4D integration features.
