Is this level of SSS possible in C4D?

I'm assuming it's mostly subsurface scattering thats behind this look? I sure am having a difficult time getting anything that looks remotely close to this. Not the object itself, but the material / shader. This image is from something I saw on Hybrid Medical Animation website. Really nice stuff there.

Thanks for any tips.

The thing to note is that it's highly stylized. It's got some translucency, some SSS, some blue haze, and a kinda weird depth of field. Get it as close as you can in C4D and then dump it in AE to tweak it further, and don't worry too much about getting it exact because I highly doubt that this is a realistic representation of something.

you will also want to play with dedicated light sources set to very high brightness (in the thousands) placed directly behind your objects.

I'm not worried that it's accurate or not, I just like the look. I wanted to make sure it was doable in C4D before I spend a bunch of time tweaking. I thought maybe it might be done in one of those fancy 3rd party renderers that I know nothing about.

Thanks for your tips.

The 'Tools4D Topology Map' plugin would help achieve this result with the help of vertex maps.
Add a dash of 'AOB Surface shader' to pick out a sort of reverse AO and you could easily achieve this effect without SSS.
