Cloner not using "Before/After" animation

I have several repeating object animations that are parented and then cloned.

I am offsetting the time of the animation on each clone.

On each of the animated elements, I have activated "continue" in either the before or after tracks.

Is there a way to get the cloner to recognize the before/after motion within each track?

I simple example scene would help I think

Here is a simple file.
Object on left is keyframed with "continue" switched on before and after on the time track.

If I clone that group, the animation runs fine in the clone, the motion continues before and after as expected BUT if I offset the animation using the transform controls in the cloner or an effector, the continue will not work in the "before" state" After state seems to work.

hope this makes sense.

I see, yea it's probably a "before frame 0 mograph" issue as you wrote.
To "get it out of the door", I'd bake the Cube so you have real keyframes to clone.
(Move the original animation forward so you have plenty "before" movement)
Using keyMATE would be of quick help for baking it.

Thank Lennart

I might do something like that if it was just a cube

The actual project file is very heavy--lots of elements, constraints, lots of clones. The file was just to get across the basic idea.

I can get around it for now, but was hoping it was a simple "click this button" sort of thing.
