Thanks LEnnart--that looks like it might do the trick.

So rather than using an effector with falloff you are driving the transition with a gradient (as you were trying to tell me before) and using the BLEND mode to morph between the 2 clones, rather than swap with the SORT mode (although sort is working as well if I switch the mode).

Brilliant.

Wondering what the reasoning was to use the mosplne? I suppose just to give you a quick way to scale a generic spline far enough to give a gap between clones?

You're welcome

The Mospline (could be any straight spline but it's the easiest)
is what the ShaderEffector is doing its work on.
So the blending is done before the wrapping.

Very cool, Lennart.

Alternatively to the Shader Effector you could use a Plain Effector with a FallOff, positioned along the straight Spline.(if you set the Cloner back to Sort).

Same principle, but instead of controlling the Gradient it's possibly easier to control the positioning of the Effector.

Thanks douwe--I suppose I could have done it that way before. Plain effector with falloff/modify/sort was my original plan, but wanted to have the effector positioned at at the correct place in the scene.
