Multithreaded Dynamics

I've been noticing that all my dynamics sims are only using one thread. Am I missing a button in the preferences that allows for multithreaded dynamics, or are we really just limited to one?

Quite frustrating to leave so much machine power wasted while I try to simulate 30,000 mograph clones.

It is pretty hard to multithread dynamics systems in general, so no surprise here.
The speed here though comes from the fact that you have 30 000 clones. C4D is notoriously slow when dealing with such a number of objects, but this has nothing to do with dynamics, this is due to the way C4D handles objects at its core.

Most viewport calculations are single or lightly threaded, not just in Cinema 4D but in most 3D apps. Dynamics, Skinning, Deformers, Mograph, Particles, Cloth.
It's why the single-core CPU speed is still so important. A lot of people think the GPU is the main factor in viewport performance but it only really deals with displaying polygons, not doing anything to them.
I would love to see more viewport multi-threading in Cinema 4D but it seems quite hard to do.
As fluffouille says, Cinema 4D always bogs down with large numbers of objects. To my mind, it's the single area of the program in most need of attention.

well not to mention maxon hasn't implemented the bullet multithreaded library as it wasn't official when the bullet implementation in C4D was released.
