emitter smoke in rendering problem?

I have a scene in 500frames with emitter smoke, quite a lot of smoke, when I render this out in avi movie or jpg so there will be only half of the smoke visible from that shown in the renders the currently active view. What could this persists or be.?
Thanks for the help!

using a standard emitter and not thinking particles I assume? There are two birth settings, one for viewport and one for renderer. The viewport renders are what you see is what you get, it matches the viewports editor display not what the actual renderer will do. for your renderer to look similar to what your seeing in the viewport you at least nee to have the renderer birth match the viewports birth.
